SAN FRANCISCO DECORATOR SHOWCASE 2023 - The GLOWING CANOPY
Nature is full of surprises. Not readily visible from the front doors, the Glowing Canopy reveals itself branch-by-branch as one enters the foyer and is inspired to look upward. Above the sinuous concrete staircase, a tangle of softly glowing branches encompasses the dome, its curves complementing the organic metalwork on the existing windows and entry doors. We were inspired to preserve and complement the existing Mediterranean Spanish architecture by telling a story of symbiosis - wherein the modern slowly emerges alongside the historic, coexisting respectfully with it by sharing the organic nature of the space.
